Jump photos have been a big part of my life since 2005. As an effort to evolve as a jumper/jump-photographer, I proposed to my brother (also an avid jumpologist) that we would each take a new jump photo for every single day in 2011. It seemed daunting, but we rose to the challenge and created a portfolio larger than expected. Most days it was hard to choose only one photo to be added into the 365 collection (where other days there was just no spark). Since then, I've slowed down a considerable amount but continue to explore this form of photography. Please check back regularly for gravity defying poses as I continue on my journey for jumping greatness.

Day 114

Photos by Crystal Burns & Katie Gallagher, Morrison CO
Happy Easter! Lots of eggs to go around today, and I was lucky to have double the photographers at my side to capture the action. So these 2 photos are from the same jump, just slightly different vantage points. I'd like to always have 2 (or 3 or 4 or...) cameras simultaneously snapping photos of jumps because it would be neat to get the full three dimensional effect, all around the subject. Special thanks goes out not only to the wonderful photographers (Katie & Crystal), but also to the egg throwers: Hanh and Luke!

Day 108

Photo by Daniel Burns, Littleton CO
I took this jump beneath the large grove of cottonwoods outside my apartment moments after I realized the flock of turkey vultures that live there had returned from wherever they went for winter. Its basically impossible to see them in this photo since my body absorbed the flash, so I left the camera in the same spot on the ground and took another shot with a slower shutter so they would show up. They're the dark blobs towards the top of the photo being hip and awesome.

Day 104

Photo by Katie Gallagher, Littleton CO
Woke up to huge wet snowflakes coming down and I took a jump. But by the end of the daylight it warmed up to 60, so I did this jump (and I liked it better).

Day 103

Doing a bit of voiceover acting and paused for a jump. I could only go a few inches off the ground without hitting my head on the ceiling of the recording booth.

Day 100

We tried to look like the number 100 for the 100th day. It was Luke's idea.

Later on we bowled, and John decided to dunk.
This is an extra post for the special occasion...

Day 98

Photo by Daniel Burns, Littleton CO
Im going to be limited in my jumps all weekend because I have to wear this wrap on my finger until Monday, and I cannot bump it at all...so nothing extreme.

Day 97

Photo by Daniel Burns, Lakewood CO
My left middle finger is huge and white because I cut the tip of it off with an xacto knife accidentally earlier today. I had to go to the hospital and they cauterized the wound. Ouch.

Day 93

Today was typical Colorado weather: I went running in the morning as it was 65 degrees with blue skies and this afternoon its snowing heavy awesome flakes with a temp of 29. Maybe a few hours from now, sledding will be an option...

Day 91

Photo by Luke Burns, Lakewood CO
I had a wonderfully awesome jump already today with some great people from our admissions department in a bouncy castle, but you don't often run across famous people who are willing to jump with you. Pictured here with me are some animation greats: far right is Sam Fleming, and in the center is Will Vinton. They were here tonight because it was the RMCAD Animation Festival (and 2 of my films were shown). Will is the guy that brought us the California Raisens in stop motion (and the Domino's Pizza Noid and the M&M characters...). Here's some more of his creds: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0899139/
